NFC Digital Business Card Launch for Hong Kong Investment Corporation (HKIC) — Delivered with Security-First Standards

We are pleased to share that Sogar has successfully launched an NFC Digital Business Card solution for HKIC.

 

HKIC is a wholly-owned government investment company responsible for managing tens of billions of HK dollars in capital, with a mandate to drive long-term economic growth and strengthen Hong Kong’s strategic industries. Given HKIC’s role as a high-trust organization closely connected to public responsibilities, the requirements for any supporting technology are understandably stringent.

 

From the outset, our approach was shaped by three core priorities: information security, data privacy and protection, and system robustness. These are not simply operational considerations—they are fundamental to delivering a solution that can be confidently adopted in a sensitive environment.

 

Why this project required more than a “standard launch”

 

While the end-user experience of an NFC digital business card is simple—tap to view details, scan QR to open the card, and save contact—what happens behind the scenes must meet a much higher bar.

 

We therefore invested significant time and effort to ensure the platform could satisfy high-level assurance expectations, including robust validation of security and performance under realistic and demanding conditions.

 

Rigorous testing and hardening

 

Over the course of months, our team conducted high-standard testing aligned with world-class practices as well as the requirements from the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA), including but not limited to:

 

  • Penetration testingto identify and mitigate potential security risks
  • Load and stress testing to confirm stability and reliability as usage scales
  • Performance and resilience engineeringto support dependable operation in production environments

 

Each phase of testing strengthened the robustness of the solution and contributed to a delivery that HKIC could trust.
